In 2017, Puerto Rico lost nearly 80% of its coffee to hurricanes. But even before the natural disasters, the industry needed help. Nespresso’s REVIVING ORIGINS program joins independent farmers to replant the land and reclaim their future. It’ll take years to restore the crop, but Puerto Rican is worth the wait. After all, they once called this the coffee of royalty.
We split this coffees in two batches for roasting. The first – with the biggest amount of coffee – to a dark degree to develop dark cocoa notes and the second to a lighter degree.
Reviving Origins Puerto Rico is an intense and creamy Double Espresso. The delicious notes of dark cocoa, pepper and brown spice all point to the comeback power of Puerto Rican coffee.
